African Proverb: The husband may be the head of the home but the wife is the heart of the home.
Meaning: Of course, this is not to set the woman against the man. This proverb is to highlight the sensitive and indispensable role a woman plays or is supposed to play in a marriage home. But just as the head cannot do without the heart and vice versa, so also in a marriage the husband needs the wife and vice versa. Both are important and must work in tandem with each other, after all, they are counterparts and not competitors. Women and men are so unique and their uniqueness complements each other when they are together. A wife who disrespects his husband will have 'headache' at home. A husband who mistreated his wife will have 'heartaches' at home.
